The Event

This 2023 Back to School Block Party will be a central gathering place for the community to engage in the support of education, arts, environment, and health. The “District Heights Entertainment Stage” will play host to local talent including bands and dance troops from our local community. Several information pavilions including Homeowners, Food, Community/Education/Arts and Health & Wellness will allow vendors to sell items and educate the public on important issues affecting the community.

The District Heights Entertainment Stage

Local entertainment groups along with school bands/step teams/dance troops will perform for attendance.

Homeowners Pavilion

Will provide information on homeownership including purchasing and financing options available.

Health & Wellness Pavilion

SLK and other partners will conduct screenings and distribute information on health & wellness.

Community & Education Pavilion

Local schools and community groups will provide information on upcoming events and support needed during the upcoming year.

Food Pavilion

Restaurants and selected food trucks & other vendors will provide food for sale and sample.

N’Style in collaboration with Youthful Sense

This event is designed to help financially guide members in the community. In addition, this event will help provide guidance about the importance of Health and Fitness. Engaging in a fun and educational way to promote better lifestyles.

N’Style in collaboration with Mission of Love Charities (MOLC), SLK Health, and GILEAD SCIENCES.

This event is an open discussion regarding sex and the safety practices that need to be considered. This event came about from hearing the youth explicitly state untrue facts because they believe it will keep them safe from catching sextually transmitted diseases. Offer free HIV incentivized testing efforts. Healthy Sexual conversation w/Trina Scott (Gilead)

N’Style in collaboration with Bowie State University, Graduate Student Association and Atikal Foundation Therapist: Dr. Hall

N’Style in collaboration with Safeway/ACME-Mid Atlantic will educate and provide COVID testing and vaccinations for the community.

This event is designed to educate and inform the community on voter suppression, the real purpose and reason to vote in your community. There is a misconception of voting for the president and not focusing on the state and local officials.
